Blu-ray vs. DVD
Are Blu-ray disks worth the extra money? Considering that video on demand is available for most movies, is it even worth it to purchase movies on disk anymore? As technology continues to change it's hard for consumers to figure out how to get the most bang for their buck! To some extent that all depends on what's important to you personally. How important is image quality to you? Do you like to rewatch your favorite movies or is one viewing enough?
:conf003:
Blu-ray brings three major improvements over DVD: better image quality, better sound quality, and more special features. All three are made possible by the larger storage capacity of Blu-ray, which is capable of storing 50GB of information on a single Blu-ray Disc, compared with DVDs, which can hold about 8GB.

Another consideration is whether or not your computer will handle Bu-ray disks! :pacman:
Blu-ray Still Missing From Apple's Mac Lineup
Apple has famously complained that Blu-ray is a "bag of hurt," in part because of licensing complexity.

Bigger picture, Apple is betting that consumers will skip hi-def movie discs as a mainstream technology, and that people will instead graduate from DVD-watching to Internet movie renting/buying, via services like Apple's iTunes.

Netflix’ Next Destination: On Your Remote Control
Streaming videos is becoming even more convenient and easy! :pacman:
Brilliant idea: Netflix and a number of consumer electronics companies have joined in a development effort to put Netflix-branded one-click buttons on remote controls that operate Internet-connected TVs, Blu-ray disc players and other devices.

Netflix Builds a 'House of Cards' That Could Knock Down the Networks
A little heavy on the hype here, but it is interesting that Netflix is going to produce a series. I don't see this as terribly significant. In 20 years if they manage to accumulate as much content as ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS put together I suppose they could at that point knock down the networks, but the networks will continue to produce content and so will the major movie-making companies. Netflix might eventually account for 5% of all video content, but that's decades away and so I'm not expecting sweeping changes anytime soon as a result of Netflix creating its own content. We'll be seeing big changes in content delivery soon, but it won't be due to this move on the part of Netflix! :pacman:
Netflix made it official today: The company has ordered its first original television series. Netflix has commissioned 26 episodes of a television series called 'House of Cards,' which will star Kevin Spacey and be executive produced by director David Fincher. According to a Friday press release, you'll be able to put 'House of Cards' in your Netflix queue in late 2012.

GoPro
Looks like a fun little camera! :thumb2:
It's probably all the mounting accessories that makes it especially useful.
