It's not me you have to worry about. I'm only somewhat curious. In fact, I'm not to sure what there would be to "worry" about in the first place! Unless of course there's a bunch of dead bodies in there...

Charlie didn't burry it, there's no bodies in it.

I heard that they had to helicopter it out. Is that true? Also I heard that CM had some sort of magic powers and that he was able to levitate the bus over really rough parts of the road. I don't believe that, but it is amazing that someone was actually able to drive the bus to the cabin.

Charlie's bus went missing sometime after his arrest at the Barker Ranch. There are/were two people who know exactly where the bus is and they have both passed a way. I and several otheres I've corresponded with on different nets have a pretty good idea of where the Bus ended up. It's probaly less then 10 miles from the Barker Ranch, but you can't see it or touch it. After all the stories of where it went and a conversation I remembered, I think I figured it out. Several others have agreed with me, and for the most part we have kept silent on it. I've been silent only because of the hoopalah and weirdo's it's discovery would bring out.

I will say that anyone who ever talked with Stella Anderson, I'm sorry I never met her, or an old miner who used to stay at the Meyers Ranch that drove an old FC Jeep PU, you might figure it out. A recognition of sudden changes in the landscape in the early 70's in that 10 mile area will help you too.

One last point. I think the bus was brought in over Mengel Pass. It was a fairly decent two wheel drive road in those days. The falls in the moth of Goler were rougher then a cob and the other road, Wingate, would have brought him through the CLNWC bombing range.

The rumor I heard was that the bus was somewhere between Striped Butte and Manly Peak. I'm not going to waste time looking for it, but I admit I am curious about what happened to it. I'm even more curious about the motivations of those who hid it. I'm thinking there's bound to be hoopla surrounding the whole Manson thing one way or the other for some time to come. It'll probably die down about ten years after he dies, but until then I expect there to be plenty of interest in his odd legacy. :dizzy:

Any sightings of the bus in my opinion are bogus. The bus is pretty much a jigsaw puzzle righ now.

Your family's mine aint far from the old Barker ranch so I trust you know what you are talking about. Manson was one sick f*(% and deserves an early grave just like those who were killed by his merry band of weirdos.

I was passin through Trona a couple of times earlier in the month and it still smells like money is being made. It's the quickest way to get to my current diggins in Esmeralda and Mineral counties :offtopic: from my place. Can someone tell me when the annual gem and mineral show is? Someone said October but didn't know the exact dates.

I have to agree with you. We can thank Rose Bird for us still supporting Charlie and his girls.

But are all the pieces still there? I hate doing jigsaws and not having all the pieces!

Do you have an estimate on how many pieces there are? Also are they located in one general area or are they hidden in a wide assortment of locations? Something tells me that there's no hope in restoring THAT bus!!!

I'd say there are a large number of pieces, more then likely they were all handled my hand. Yes in one specific area. No, it could never be a bus again, with out going to the smelter first.

I'm sure that Charles Manson, with his magical powers of levitation and all, will have no problem reassembling the magic bus when his followers take him to the site where the bus is buried. At that point they will continue on with their plot to incite a race war and ultimately to be the rulers of a new world order!!! Blah-ha-ha-ha!!! (That's supposed to be a Dr. Evil laugh in case anyone's wondering!)
