Dominique Strauss-Kahn: DNA samples confirm sperm traces on maid's dress
This sounds like the Kobe Bryant case all over. Let's see, the maid walked into the locked hotel room where this guy was taking a shower. He came out of the shower naked and was surprised to see her. One wonders why she didn't leave when she heard the shower. Apparently she enticed him into sex and he was more than willing to engage. Afterwards she claims rape. Typical story. The only question is did she do it in hopes of getting famous or was she paid by someone in order to sabotage his career. But ultimately, the real question is why law enforcement officials are dumb enough to actually file charges in a case like this.
The latest revelations, published on the French website Atlantico.fr, came amid reports the former IMF chief sought the company of two female hotel members of staff after he checked into the Sofitel one day before his alleged sexual assault on the maid on May 14. Both receptionists declined the offer of a drink. Mr Strauss-Kahn has been indicted on seven charges, including forcing the maid to perform oral sex on him and attempted rape. If he is convicted, he would face up to 25 years in prison.

Law enforcement is forced to do the politically expedient thing. They are expected to believe all accusations of rape regardless of how ridiculous those claims may happen to be. I'm sure the detectives realize that the charges are false, but they must pursue the case or else their careers will come to a sudden halt. As for the young lady, a third possibility is that she walked into what she thought was an unoccupied room and tried to leave before Strauss-Kahn came out of the shower. Realizing her mistake when the man came out of the bathroom and fearing that she might get fired for entering an occupied hotel room, she decided to go on the offensive and claim rape. Personally I think she was probably put up to doing it, but there are other possible motives that she might have for making the false allegations.

Anatomy of a Scandal: How Anthony Weiner and John Edwards lost control of their private parts.
Those out-of-control private parts. Someone has gotta come up with an app for it! :pacman:
Pausing only to pity the poor penis, so shabbily half-disowned (does Weiner think it has no feelings at all; that it must conclude that its owner's right hand does not know what his left hand is doing?), we move to the week's other Democratic scandal. Former senator and potential presidential nominee John Edwards now admits that he financed the concealment of his mistress and his then-unborn child with generous funds given by a credulous centenarian named Rachel "Bunny" Mellon. But he denies that this was an improper diversion of money given to his campaign. As the New York Times summarized matters: "The Edwards defense is that the money was used not for political reasons but for personal reasons: he wanted to conceal the affair from his wife."

5 Athletes Whose Crimes Are Too Easily Forgotten Because of Their Talents
This is a troubling article for a number of reasons. First of all, all five examples are black men and so the author seems to have a problem with black men. Further, she mentions Micheal Jackson (a black man who was not an athlete) and claims that he molested boys even though MJ was found innocent on all charges. She goes on to insist that Kobe Bryant was guilty of the charges against him although he was found guilty of nothing. It seems that for a certain segment of society an accusation is proof of guilt. I accuse all such people of being ignorant pieces of crap who are not fit to inhabit the planet. Must be true, because someone alleged it and so I'd like to see all those ignorant pieces of crap leave the planet so that only reasonable people are "left behind" so that we can go about the business of fixing all the problems caused by all those ignorant pieces of crap that have messed things up!

The writer would have done well to have it edited. Many of the comments on the article said that it was poorly written. I wonder about the hidden agenda behind the article.

I hope that most Americans still believe in the concept of Innocent Until Proven Guilty. Without fair treatment of citizens by the government there is absolutely no hope for the USA. And it appears to me that this French guy recently accused of rape is in a situation very similar to the one Kobe Bryant was in. There's no conclusive evidence of wrong-doing and so they should just drop the case!

While Weiner should feel embarrassed by his online mistake, it's not even close to something that he should resign over!

Investigation Into Alleged Contact Between Weiner and 17-Year-Old Girl
Talk about suggestive headlines! Turns out the type of contact they're talking about is the exchange of a message and not actual physical contact. Ain't it like Fox to make a big deal over nothing!
