If it's happening outside of North America and you want to talk about it, this is the place!

Cold School: Romney drags skeletons out of 70's closet
How do we get such ignoramuses in positions of power? Are they too busy to actually check the facts and update outmoded beliefs about the world? Romney is a national embarrassment. He makes all of us look like a bunch of ignorant fools stuck in a past mythology!

Russia warns of pre-emptive strike on AMD if NATO goes ahead
Russia and the USA should be allies and putting missiles in Poland seems like Cold War-style provocation. It's good to see Russia asserting it's interests in this matter. Hopefully the USA will be responsive and seek mutually beneficial compromise.

DAMN COMMIES!!!!
But seriously.... Putin and Medvedev were probably the most friendly candidates towards the USA. The Communist Party (2nd place with somewhere around 20%) would have definitely been less friendly. Most of the other parties hold extremist views of one kind or another. The party backing the rich basketball team owner probably would have been a corporate sell out - and viewed favorably by our corporately controlled government - but would have been VERY BAD for Russia. I'd say the Russian people (close to 60% of them) understand their interests and voted accordingly!

Putin and Obama share a laugh at G-20
The question is what did Putin say? Was Obama just smiling and laughing to be polite or was Putin's remark actually funny?!!

Daft Punk: Pussy Riot trial starts amid scandal & media buzz
If someone pulled this stunt in America, they would probably be arrested and face various charges. You can't just barge into a religious meeting and disrupt the proceedings. That's not free speech, that's what is called in this news report hooliganism! Probably a few months in jail and/or community service and/or a large fine would be sufficient punishment.

Putin: Pussy Riot should not be judged too harshly
They're not being punished for protesting against the government, it's the way they chose to express themselves that is the problem. They would be treated the same way here in the USA. Reports by the media here in the USA have twisted this story around in order to demonize Russia, but the truth is that they'd get the same treatment in the USA!

Punk Punishment: Pussy Riot's 'unholy prayer' splits society
This Pussy Riot thing is pretty entertaining. To be clear though, if they had done this in the USA, they would have been arrested, detained and released on bail. Depending on what state they pulled this stunt in they'd face anywhere from 48 hours of community service or a fine of $5000 up to a couple years in prison. I'd imagine that ultimately the punishment they receive in Russia will be significantly less than two years in prison, but we'll see!
