The whole transit is visible from Alaska, and parts of northern Canada, and from New Zealand, much of Australia, Asia and Russia. In the US, the transit will be in progress as the sun sets on 5 June.

I tried looking at the transit about half a dozen times throughout the day. I could barley see it through the welding helmet by squinting when it first started but the closer it got to the middle of the sun, the harder it was to see. I'm not even sure if I could see it at all after the first six minutes. It would have been nice to have a telescope or binoculars to look through the welding helmet with. I guess if you didn't see it, you didn't miss that much.
