I wonder how Rand Elementary and the Community Day School plan to spend their $31.87!!! :funny: I'll bet that there is a requirement that the funds must be spent on computer related items. I'm not sure what in that category could be purchased with $31.87!!! :dizzy:

Something tells me that these funds can only be spent on Micro$oft products. So, although Micro$oft violated the law, their punishment is basically to provide schools with discounts so that the schools can help create more mindless customers of Micro$oft products! This way it looks like M$ is paying for it's misdeeds, but what we really have is a campaign promoting their products. Corporations always win when they control the government!

More snow in RC of course and it closed schools and businesses there. Haven't heard if and for how long 395 was closed.
Several inches of snow continued to fall on the Indian Wells Valley throughout the morning Monday, closing local schools as well as a few local business. The snow began Sunday morning.

Trona Senior Center Auctions Piano
Nice piano, but who wants something that big in their house? Also does the piano come with free delivery? :confused2:
Trona Community Senior Center is hosting a silent auction for their Gulbransen Company Piano (Chicago) Full 88 Super Scale Grand Piano. The minimum bid amount has been set at $400. The piano is in fair condition and is being replaced by a keyboard donated by one of the senior citizens in Trona.

Museum lines up acclaimed act for annual fete
Read the article to find out about the impressive credentials of this guitar trio. This concert is certainly worth the scenic drive up to Lone Pine. If you go, go the back way, it beats the heck out of driving through disgusting Ridgecrest!
The Old West will meet the new frontier of guitar-driven live music; tradition will collide with innovation and familiarity will make way for groundbreaking entertainment as one of the Eastern Sierra’s most popular fundraisers returns to Lone Pine. “There is something very different and exciting about the music for this year’s Lone Pine Concert/Dinner in the Rocks,” Lone Pine Film History Museum spokesperson Chris Langley said earlier this week. Langley announced Wednesday that the California Guitar Trio, a critically acclaimed somewhat commercially underrated band that wowed so many locals at a recent community concert, has been tapped to perform their unique brand of music in the Alabama Hills on Saturday, June 4.

Mule Days executive board waits for state veterinary association update
This outbreak of equine herpes virus started at a competition in Ogden and has now spread through four western states and Canada. :cry2:
As plans for the annual Mule Days celebration move ahead in Bishop, so do concerns over the news about a deadly and contagious horse virus that has spread throughout western states, including California. In Bishop, private equestrian centers have decided to ban out-of-town horses and mules from their facilities. Hilke Ungersma at the Millpond Equestrian Center said her facility will not accept horses that come to town for Mule Days. She said her horses will not leave for their summer stables in Mammoth nor out-of-town shows. Reports have indicated that other local centers are following suit.

Executive board members make it clear that Mule Days is a go
No need to cancel Mule Days over herpes!!!
Even before news of a deadly horse virus, the Bishop Mule Days Executive Board faced a down year, impacted by the economy and gas prices. Last Monday they got the word that an equine virus had infected horses in western states. Board members faced the possibility that the State might shut down Mule Days. The board spent long days and nights to research the issues. They made a firm decision to proceed with Mule Days. On Friday, members of the executive board invited the media to the Mule Days office to ask questions. Dana Crom explained that after the board heard about the deadly virus, they talked to the local Agricultural Commissioner, the State and UC Davis Veterinary School. No one recommended cancellation of Mule Days. Crom pointed out that PCRA rodeo is not canceling neither are other horse events in California and Nevada.
