Zoom malfunctions have become part of modern life. There are lots of ways which people embarrass themselves while on Zoom calls (or on other video conferencing platforms such as Google Meet or Skype). Sometimes these events can be mildly cringey in nature and other times they can be catastrophic and have serious long-lasting effects, both psychological and financial. No one is exempt or immune from these possibly traumatic malfunctions, except those who do not use any kind of video conferencing platform. Students have embarrassed themselves in front of their peers. Teachers have made themselves look stupid for the world to see. And perhaps, most notably, Jeffrey Toobin managed to make himself look like a total fool by.... well, the story is so outlandish that it's hard to believe!
