Coyote Melon

Coyote Melon is one of those plants that are likely to be found growing near springs since they need more water than is the case for many desert plants. The Argus Wilderness contains many springs and one of the places that I've found a large number of coyote melon plants is Water Canyon, the mouth of which is just below Slate Range Crossing. In fact, the specimens shown in my Coyote Melon (Plant Freak Song) video were found just a couple miles up the canyon. BTW, the seeds of this plant may have been used as a food source by local Native American groups.

Lemons

A couple years ago Nalts used one of my songs in one of his videos, which was called "Nasty Little Lemon." The idea was inspired by a news piece about some study that showed that lemons available at many restaurants contained lots of nasty germs. This was somewhat surprising information since most people would not expect that lemons would carry such a potentially unhealthy payload. Trona News

The total post count at TronaNews.com is just about ready to exceed 3000! That's a lot of posts for approximately ten months! Looking through the topics discussed on the message board it becomes apparent that there is plenty of diversity in terms of what people posting to the board find interesting and worthy of sharing with others. The posts range from fun and silly to serious and troubling. The fact that people are sharing so much is a good sign and hopefully more people will join in on the discussion!
