The short song is under appreciated. There is a certain elegance to being brief that is sacrificed when a song is stretched out to commercial length. On top of that there is a certain honesty conveyed when an artist keeps a song short and to the point. In my not so humble opinion, the short song constitutes a special genre that transcends your typical musical boundaries. While I'm not saying that my songs qualify as artistic expressions of any great merit, I have been inspired by many short songs that have achieved this level of excellence. While some of these songs may contain content that might offend some people, a true artist does not avoid a topic or form of expression simply because it might offend the sensibilities of the squeamish or does not conform to current fashions or social norms. In fact, pushing the boundaries is somewhat of a duty that every artist who has an ounce of integrity should consider to be a moral imperitive. Below is my latest short song and beneath that are links to some short songs that I have found to be inspirational.
